FINANCING
Our programs pretend to take
place under a selfmanagement concept. It should be understood
that being a non profitable institution means neither to work in
a paternal way nor to develop activities that can provoke an economic
loss in a near future, because this puts at great risk our mission's
performance. This is why we manage all programs under an entrepreneurial
concept where quality service dignifies those who are benefited.
As an example, for those patients who are requiring
rehabilitation, CAID asks them to pay part of it, so they feel as
an important part of the problem solving aspect. Once they have
agreed to make this payment, the Social Work Department evaluates
how much can the patient afford and where to go to look for the
rest of the financing for his or her rehabilitation.
We have to face a very big problem since the needs
of our people grow tremendously every day while our capacity
to help them also becomes more and more restrained. Currently the
economic aspect is an obstacle for us to satisfy all of these requirements.
Even though we have implemented practices such as
Strategical Alliances with many institutions, funding programs and
work on productive projects which have been very effective, the
need of social partners that invest with us becomes more and more
urgent every day.
Hermano Miguel Foundation is an institution
that develops projects that are of no profitability or loss, because
"our profitability is measured on the development of the social
field"
